MM: The discourse in art surrounding notions of truth never particularly held my interest. Whether an image requires irony in order to remain genuine... or whether intimacy can only be held at an arms length... or whether fakery is more believable than reality... or whether a documentary photograph is just a matter of aesthetics?
The nudity in my pictures may be my honest desire for a no bullshit conversation, acting merely as a metaphor, nothing else. I'm not guiless, but I believe a person's imprint should be pure, even if it's corrupted, dystopian, or worse joyless.
I made these pictures with the hope of having an experience that was a break from life's thankless tasks and routines. Everyone needs a high somewhere.
