An Amazingly Real Illusion - Coney Island, Southern Brooklyn, New York - Photographs by Eric Mas

'Hey man, how much is it to get a camera like this... how much it cost? I need one... I want to shoot landscape and this is what I need....'

'I don't know', I said, as I realized that maybe it was not such a good idea to get so much attention as I wanted to shoot incognito. It was almost raining and it was late morning, and Coney Island was a ghostly wonderland with dormant attractions. And so, this young Russian teen, who was taking my order at Nathan's hot dog stand, was going on and on about photography and how it was important to get money, buy a professional camera, and go around the world to take pictures.
