1814: Christian Dior called her 'the most beautiful woman in the world'. Joan Crawford said of her ' I think that face is the most fabulously beautiful thing that I have seen in my whole life.' Eileen Ford famously said, 'There aren't many Suzy's in the world. God didn't create them.' So much has been said and written about Suzy Parker; the world's first super model, a talented actress, .... However very few people know that Suzy Parker was a gifted photographer. Can you tell us when Suzy Parker first developed her interest in photography?

PDH: Suzy first developed her interest in photography as her working relationship with Richard Avedon grew, in her late teen years. Avedon mentored her and encouraged her interest in photography.  Suzy was such a gifted model mostly because she felt intuitively how to work with the photographer to create fluidity and and living imagery... she never just posed for the camera. So her eye for  photography on the lens side of the camera was a natural progression.
